For me, photography is all about reflecting a person's authentic nature. My special skill is capturing your essence while helping you feel comfortable in front of the camera. I guarantee you will love your portraits!
I was delighted to be given the opportunity to photograph Lilian Cheung for the book jacket of “Savor: Mindful Eating, Mindful Life.” A Harvard professor of Nutrition, Lilian collaborated with Buddhist monk Thich Nhat Hanh in this thoughtful book about approaching each bite we take with consciousness and insight. Lilian wanted her author portrait to compliment the photo of her co-author, so we decided to do the session outside (yes, in the dead of winter!). I used a fast portrait lens at a wide aperture to blur the background. Lori B. Johnson was there to do her makeup magic and hold the reflector (thanks for doing double-duty, Lori!). Lilian brought her own serene and beautiful expression to the session.
