Diagnosis: prostate cancer
John and his wife lived in a cozy older home that had the added advantage of an attached sun porch that gave a special mid-winter brightness. That meant photographing with natural light, with the occasional bounced flash. He was tired from his chemotherapy treatments, but he and his wife told me tales of an exciting life filled with family and cross-country travel. I loved seeing in his eyes the evidence of a life well lived.
