Diagnosis: acute myelogenous leukemia
I felt a real kinship with Sandra, as she is an artist and member of a singing group. While she had had an assertive attitude with her cancer treatment, she was also a warm and accommodating photography subject. She loves the outdoors, so we opted to do the shoot in her beautiful back yard using diffuse light under a shade tree.
