Jacklyn has been living with carcinoid for almost 25 years, and has the spirit and fortitude of someone who knows what is ultimately important. While expressing sadness about leaving behind a job she loved, she talked about how sharing experiences and feelings with other patients has kept her spirits up. I loved how her face lit up as she told me about the people in her life who have helped her on her journey. I used available light at a high ISO for this portrait.
