Diagnosis: multiple cancers over 30 years
I photographed Arthur in his bright apartment, where he talked freely about living life with cancer for many years. I was struck by how he reduced the impact of his illness to the practical: It almost sounded as if it was just an everyday annoyance to him. Since he was so natural in front of the camera, I just asked him to continue with his everyday activities. I photographed entirely with available light coming in from his picture window.
