An exhibition: Gay Dads and their Kids
| I began this project, "Gay Dads and their Kids," in 1999, when I saw an announcement in a newspaper about a meeting for Gay Fathers of Greater Boston. At that point in time I realized I had never seen a photograph of a professed gay father and his child(ren). I also imagined that there must be a high level of commitment from the father to actively seek out ways to create the best possible relationship with his child, even in the face of possible prejudice and negativity from the community at large. I hope the images show what I have experienced-love and commitment that erases the borders of what is called "traditional parenting."
